The Kansas City Star reports that the Chiefs traded defensive lineman Tank Tyler to the Carolina Panthers on Monday night for a fifth-round 2010 draft pick.
Tyler started two games this season at nose tackle before being replaced by Ron Edwards.
A third-round draft pick in 2007, Tyler is the latest of the Chiefs' draft choices from the Herm Edwards era to depart.

According to the Jacksonville Times-Union, Jacksonville seeks to trade Dennis Northcutt, one of the longest-tenured receivers remaining on the roster.
Northcutt's age and salary, combined with the addition of veteran Torry Holt and rookies appear to have made the 10-year veteran expendable.
Northcutt signed a five-year, $17 million contract with the Jaguars in 2007 that included a $4.5 million signing bonus. He is 31 and is scheduled to make $2.75 million.
