Sanchez cold start against Falcons

Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez was listed as a "full" participant in practice and took 75% of the first-team reps, according to the New York Daily News.

Coach Rex Ryan said Sanchez had no swelling or discomfort when he was examined my team doctors.

Kevin Smith could miss rest of season

Lions running back Kevin Smith suffered a season-ending knee injury, according to the Detroit News.

The second-year running back was carted off the field in obvious pain and will undergo an MRI.

Lions coach Jim Schwartz said that it's likely a "significant" knee injury, which occurred when Smith ducked and tried to cut inside Ravens linebacker Jameel McClain.

Suggs did not travel to Green Bay with team

Ravens confirmed linebacker-defensive end Terrell Suggs did not travel to Green Bay with the team.

According to the Baltimore Sun, Suggs was listed as doubtful with a knee injury and had a temporary restraining order issued against him on Friday after a Baltimore woman filed a domestic violence complaint.

Delhomme hospitalized, but expects to play

The Charlotte Observer reports that quarterback Jake Delhomme was taken to a hospital during the fourth quarter of Sunday's 34-21 victory against the Arizona Cardinals.

He later said that he thinks he will be able to play next week when the Carolina Panthers play New Orleans in the Superdome.

Darnell Dockett slammed into Delhomme as he threw a short pass to fullback Brad Hoover in the third quarter.

Delhomme was on the ground in pain for a few moments, before leaving the game.

McNabb could be back for Tampa Bay

Eagles QB Donovan McNabb could return on Oct. 11 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after their bye week, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Eagles coach Andy Reid made it clear that there isn't going to be a quarterback controversy even though Kolb threw for more than 300 yards in each of his two starts.

Shoulder is likely to keep Tuck out

According to the New York Post, Justin Tuck has a history of playing through pain and illness, but is more inclined to sit out this week than rush back.

Tuck is dealing with an apparent injury to the labrum in his left shoulder, which he sustained when Cowboys left tackle Flozell Adams tripped him in the second quarter of the Giants 33-32 win.

Adams was fined $12,500 by the league.

Marion Barber's quad strain

Marion Barber fell to the turf after he broke free for a 35-yard gain with just more than four minutes to go in the loss to the Giants. The injury ended what had been one of Barber's more productive performances.

The Dallas Morning News reports that an MRI taken Monday morning confirmed Barber suffered a quad strain.

When asked later in the afternoon if the injury could force the running back to miss some time, head coach Wade Phillips said, "How the injury responds in the next few days will determine if he's able to play against Carolina."

Bo Scaife fumes over knee injury

Titans tight end Bo Scaife suffered a left knee injury in the third quarter of Thursday night's season opener against the Steelers.

According to the Tennessean, Scaife later blamed Steelers linebacker James Harrison.

Harrison tackled Scaife on the sideline, causing a fumble that the Steelers recovered.

Scaife did not return to the game. He had five catches for 48 yards before the injury.
